Recommendation FRIDAY

- DEMI LYNCH -

In 2019, intersectional feminism is scattered throughout pop culture. People of today's society have more access to stories about people of different backgrounds, minorities, genders, races, abilities and sizes across many forms of media.

So every Friday I will be recommending my favourite TV shows, movies, books, music and podcasts that let me indulge in intersectional feminist content and multiculturalism .

CHARLIE'S ANGELS

This reboot is 100% Kristen Stewart's ULTIMATE COMEBACK MOVIE. Her character Sabina is witty, badass and quite hilarious. Kristen is the killer comedic lead and has gotten A LOT of attention for it on Twitter.

Now don't get me wrong I LOVE the original "Charlie's Angels" movie (from the year 2000) and the 2003 "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle." But I must admit it was refreshing watching the 2019 female spies not have to take their clothes off to get the job done.

This movie shows women don't have to dress sexy to be a spy. In comparison to the original movies it was less cheesy and more badass. And less focused on sex appeal and more focused on being an action movie and a smart comedy.

However, sadly the Charlie's Angels reboot is a flop at the Box Office. So I urge you all to support the movie and buy tickets because IT'S AMAZING! You will leave the cinemas feeling strong, inspired and fangirling over Kristen Stewart.

ILIZA SHLESINGER: UNVEILED

If you haven't heard of Iliza Shlesinger get onto your Netflix account right now! The woman now has FIVE stand up shows on Netflix. FIVE COMEDY SPECIALS IN SIX YEARS!

Throughout her new standup show "Iliza Shlesinger: Unveiled," Iliza talks about women judging other women online. She deconstructs feminism and talks about women's fear of being a 'bad feminist.' The recently married comedian also hilariously deconstructs wedding traditions such as wearing a veil and having the groom remove the bride's garter at the reception. Highly recommend giving this a watch along with her 2018 comedy special "Elder Millennial." Cannot wait for her "Forever" tour to come to Australia next year!
